The Orlando Police Department is calling for potential talent to seize the opportunity to serve the local community and make more money.
New OPD officers can qualify for an $8,000 bonus. Opportunities to grow at the Orlando Police Department include a drug unit, TAC unit, K-9, financial crimes and more.
The salaries, not including overtime and extra duty details, that were posted by OPD are:
- Officers: $64,656 – $108,662
- Sergeants: Up to: $127,322
- Lateral Transfer with 2+ years of law enforcement experience: $68,934 (effective October 1, 2024)
OPD is also offering certified police officers perks including a shoe allowance, shift differential pay, an education incentive with four-year degree, all equipment provided, and all officers are provided with a take home vehicle.
Once hired and if out-of-state and first time officers qualify, the new Orlando Police Department officers will receive a $5,000 State of Florida Recruitment Bonus. Officers will also receive a $3,000 bonus from the Orlando Police Department. In total, hired officers receive a $8,000 bonus.
