Shooting in Dispute between Man in Vehicle, Man on Electric Bicycle in Central Florida

There is a homicide investigation after a shooting in a dispute between a man in a vehicle and a man on an electric bicycle in Central Florida.




According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting this month occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 301 and Balm Riverview Road in Riverview near Tampa. Deputies responded to the intersection for reports of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they located 45-year-old Peter Meyer, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Through investigative efforts, deputies have learned that the shooting began from a dispute between a man in a vehicle and a man on an electric bicycle. Detectives were actively working to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal incident.

Detectives were conferring with the State Attorney’s Office regarding this investigation. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.




“Any loss of life in our community is tragic, and we are committed to uncovering the full truth of what happened,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives are working tirelessly to piece together the events that led to this fatal shooting.

This remains an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
