Gas prices continued their upward march in Orlando, rising by 12.9 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $3.52/gallon, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of more than 850 gas outlets.
Including the change in gas prices in Orlando during the past week, prices yesterday were 10.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and 19.1 cents per gallon higher than one month ago.
The national average has increased 15.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 15.1 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
Gas prices could continue to spike, in line with what’s observed every spring, analysts believe. They say, refineries are in the middle of their two major yearly maintenance seasons, which means as refineries wrap up their work in April, there could be restarting issues, leading to further increases in gas prices before they peak.
