The Orlando Police Department arrested a man accused of attacking a female jogger in College Park.
On April 10th at approximately 4:30am, Orlando Police officers responded to a 911 call regarding a female jogger who had been attacked in the 1800 block of Northumberland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported being assaulted while jogging in the College Park area.
The suspect, later identified as Tyler Feight, approached the victim and struck her in the upper body, causing her to fall to the ground. As Feight attempted to further overpower her, the victim resisted by screaming and kicking, successfully causing Feight to run.
The suspect fled the scene on foot, and the victim was able to return home and call 911. The victim sustained minor injuries.
Later in the morning, a resident spotted an individual matching the suspect’s description – previously shared by the victim via social media – sleeping in a nearby grassy area. The suspect was detained, and the victim positively identified the man as the person who attacked her.
For the past two months, Feight has been sleeping outside in the woods near the area after being released from jail. Feight had been in jail for battery on a different female.
According to local law enforcement, Feight was charged with Attempted Sexual Battery and Battery.
