The Seminole County mother who strangled her 2-year-old daughter to death with a bra will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
On Wednesday, a jury found Nioshka Bello, 24, guilty of first degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Janessa Sandoval, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
Bello confessed to strangling Janessa in September 2009 in a Casselberry home, shortly after she argued with the toddler’s father. After attempting to take her own life, Bello then removed her bra and used it to strangle a sleeping Janessa.
According to reports, while Bello was in custody, she again attempted to take her life.
Within hours of her arrest, the 24-year-old made a 15-minute confession to authorities which Circuit Judge Jessica Recksiedler ruled could be used as evidence, the paper reported.
Bello was sentenced to life in prison by Judge Recksiedler shortly after the jury returned its guilty verdict.
