A composite sketch of the man who Orlando police believe shot and killed Alex Mazzan downtown Orlando on Monday evening has been released. Police also released a photo of the suspect in the suspect vehicle, as he opens the rear door.
The shooter has been described as a black male between 18-23 years old, about 5’ 8″ tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He has a medium complexion, short dreds with beads and was wearing a white tank top t-shirt. He was seated on the rear passenger’s side and fired from inside the vehicle.
Police say, the shooter was with another black male wearing a short sleeved red shirt who was also seated in the rear driver’s side seat.
The suspect vehicle is a 2013 white Nissan Altima which was driven by a black female. Another black female was seated in the front passenger’s side, police said.
Mazzan, 20, was walking with another male in the Lucerne Terrace area downtown Orlando after visiting someone in the hospital when he was killed. Police say the shooting following a verbal altercation with black male suspects in a vehicle passing by.
According to police, Mazzan and the other man were crossing the street when they were confronted by the suspect vehicle and suspects inside.
Mazzan was pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Medical Center. The other male victim was unhurt in the shooting.
It is believed that the crime was a random act as neither the suspects nor victims were known to each other.
