Orlando Police Department Released Crime Data on Homicides, Shootings

The Orlando Police Department recently released crime data on homicides and shootings.




According to OPD, crime in Orlando continues to decline.

Compared to last year, the Orlando Police Department saw “significant reductions” in the following:

  • Homicides – Down 35% (from 23 in 2024 to 15 in 2025)
  • Shootings with Victims – Down 25% (from 65 in 2024 to 49 in 2025)

Other crime reduction stats OPD released included:

  • Overall Crime
    • Reduction: 16%
      • 2023-2024: 43,147 cases
      • 2024-2025: 36,280 cases
  • Violent Crime
    • Reduction: 10%
      • 2023-2024: 6,066 cases
      • 2024-2025: 5,446 cases





These numbers reflected data collected between September 23, 2023 – September 23, 2025 according to OPD.

“These results demonstrate our officers’ dedication to serving and protecting the citizens of Orlando,” OPD posted about the crime data.
