President Barack Obama signed today a proclamation regarding Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, 26 November, urging all Americans to reach out to their neighbors and fellow citizens in need of a helping hand, as they observe a unique national tradition. “This is a time for us to renew our bonds with one another, and we can fulfill that commitment by serving our communities and our Nation throughout the year”, the proclamation read.
The President also paid tribute to the men and women in uniform who service America, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms which Americans enjoy and give thanks.
