A local Orlando student recently earned sixth place at a science tournament event with more than 2,000 competitors.
The Orlando Science Schools (OSS) student ranked high at the at the Science Olympiad National Tournament, a STEM competition that attracted more than 2,000 people from across the country.
Maram B.N. competed alongside her teammates at the Science Olympiad National Tournament, which was held in Nebraska, and scored sixth place in an event that challenged participants to build a miniature helicopter using rubber bands.
The OSS group earned 29th place overall at the prestigious event.
