Republican candidate Mike Beltran was added to the MAGA Majority program in Florida by the NRCC, targeting Tampa Democrat and incumbent Representative Kathy Castor.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) today announced Mike Beltran is being added to the 2026 MAGA Majority program, putting a focus on the Central Florida district. Florida’s 14th Congressional District includes Tampa and Hillsborough County.
“Out of touch Democrat Kathy Castor has spent nearly 20 years failing Tampa Bay families,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole. “From voting to raise taxes and hike costs to pushing woke policies and undermining our national security, Castor’s top priority has always been her socialist Party. Meanwhile, Trump-endorsed Mike Beltran has a record of lowering taxes, helping businesses thrive, and expanding access to health care. Beltran has what it takes to send Castor packing and deliver for Florida in Washington.”
Mike Beltran is a lawyer, former Florida State legislator, and father.
The MAGA Majority is an NRCC program focused on supporting and elevating the next wave of America First candidates who will help expand the Republican House majority in 2026.
It is clear Republicans are ready to target and attack Democratic Rep. Kathy Castor. This race is a top target for Republicans and Democrats in Florida.
Democratic Rep. Kathy Castor is Tampa Bay’s voice in the U.S. Congress. She was first elected in 2006, representing Florida’s 14th Congressional District which included Tampa and St. Petersburg, as well as parts of Hillsborough County and Pinellas County prior to redistricting. She is the first woman to represent both Hillsborough County and Pinellas County in Congress. Republicans hope to flip this seat, and it will likely play a role in determining control of Congress.
