A Florida Representative is calling for President Donald Trump’s removal from office.
Rep. Maxwell Frost, an Orlando Democrat, said the Republican President “is openly threatening genocide” and said Trump “must be removed from office.” The Central Florida Democrat called on Republicans to invoke the 25th Amendment, which would likely never happen in the Trump Cabinet.
“The President is openly threatening genocide. A crime against humanity,” Orlando Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost posted. “He must be removed from office.”
“The 25th Amendment must be invoked. If not, Congress has to do our damn job. Speaker Johnson, call us into session. War powers & impeachment. Remove this man from office.”
This came in response to President Trump posting about the Iran war and threatening that a whole civilization was about to die, “never to be brought back again.” That threat ultimately was more bluster from President Trump as another “last-minute” ceasefire deal was made, although Iran continued attacking Israel and neighboring countries, with questions about the Strait of Hormuz remaining.
The Central Florida Representative is emerging leader in the Democratic Party but not many congressional Democrats have openly called for impeachment and removal like Rep. Frost has done. According to reports, only around 70 Democrats have joined the calls to remove President Trump from office after the latest extreme rhetoric.
It seems like another impeachment is definitely on the table if Democrats take back control of Congress.
