One Orange County Mayor candidate sent a message about the status of her campaign.
Tiffany Moore Russell currently serves as Orange County Clerk of Courts and is running for Orange County Mayor, but apparently rumors were swirling that she was dropping out. The candidate answered clearly.
In a recent video to Orange County voters, the candidate said there were some things she wanted to clear up, specifically addressing a rumor circulating that she was not going to stay in the race.
“Let me be very clear, out of my mouth, I am running for Orange County Mayor and I will not be getting out of this race” Tiffany Moore Russell said in the video.
Tiffany Moore Russell was elected to the Orange County Commission for District 6 in 2006, and then became Clerk in 2014. Her campign for Mayor is based on building an Orange County for everyone. She is prioritizing making housing more accessible, ensuring equitable development and smart growth, enhancing transportation solutions, revitalizing infrastructure, investing in public safety, protecting small business, and expanding parks, recreation, and the arts.
She also said in the video that many Central Florida voters are confused by their local governments and many do not that they can vote in the election for Mayor.
“Let me set the record straight on two things,” Tiffany Moore Russell said. “I am running for Orange County Mayor, and I am NOT getting out of this race. And if you’ve been wondering whether your vote counts: YES, it does. Whether you live in Orlando, Apopka, Winter Park, Winter Garden, or anywhere across all 13 cities in Orange County, every registered voter in Orange County gets to vote for Mayor. I need YOUR vote on August 18th, 2026. Let’s get to work.”
In addition to Tiffany Moore Russell, candidates currently running for Orange County Mayor include Stephanie Murphy, Mayra Uribe, Chris Messina and others.
