Central Florida Woman Arrested for Animal Cruelty after Puppies Found in Zipped Bags

Last week, Tampa Police officers arrested a Central Florida woman for animal cruelty charges after puppies were found in zipped up plastic bags in a dumpster.

Investigators say on November 24th, a witness reported three newborn puppies were found barely alive in a garbage dumpster located at 1512 North Clark Street. The witness reported at least two of the puppies were zipped up in plastic Ziploc style bags.

The witness reported they took the puppies to the local Humane Society for emergency care where they later passed away. The Tampa Police Department was contacted, and an aggravated animal cruelty investigation began.

“It’s disturbing to see a case of animal abuse in our community,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “We will not tolerate this kind of behavior and will hold those accountable for their actions.”

City of Tampa video surveillance captured video of a suspect vehicle leading detectives to Angela Giudice-Burris. Giudice-Burris was arrested and charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, according to local law enforcement in Tampa.

Hillsborough County Animal Control also responded to the residence and removed two adult dogs from the property.
