There are fears that, with the rising cholera death toll in Haiti which has now claimed the lives of 1,250 people, the disease could well spread to other neighboring Caribbean countries.
According to the Haitian Health Ministry, a total of 52,715 have been recorded and 20,687 had been treated in hospitals in that country.
The UN said that hundreds of thousands more lives are being threatened, ten months after a massive earthquake killed close to 250,000 people.
