The award recognizes the hospital’s dedication to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

Get With The Guidelines – Stroke, is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to these guidelines, which can minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and prevent death.

On average, someone in the U.S. suffers a stroke every 40 seconds, someone dies of a stroke about every three minutes and more than 795,000 people suffer a new or recurring stroke each year.
Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips qualified for the award with a high performance in stroke care for at least 24 months. In addition to following treatment guidelines, the stroke care team also educates patients to help them manage their health and recovery at home.
