The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with local law enforcement partners to keep impaired drivers off the roads.
From Friday, November 3, 2023, through Saturday, November 4, 2023, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office conducted 58 vehicle stops as part of the collaborative effort.
“This operation underscores the importance of safeguarding our streets and neighborhoods,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Every DUI arrest represents a potential life saved, and our commitment to this cause remains firm.”
HCSO, along with the Tampa Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, Code Enforcement and Tampa Fire Rescue, strategically planned this initiative to ensure the safety of our community members following the recent tragedy in Ybor City.
Results of the Central Florida operation:
- Traffic Stops: 58
- DUI Arrests: 11
- Felony Arrests: 1
- Firearm Impounded: 1
- Citations Issued: 3
- Warnings: 55
As a result of the operation, 16-year-old Pedro Ortega was arrested for Fleeing to Elude, Carrying a Concealed Firearm and Driving With License Canceled, Suspended, Or Revoked.
