Voting Rights Groups Host GOTV Concert Before Election

Equal Ground, who describes themselves as “a Black-led, non-partisan, non-profit organization working to expand Black political power in Florida,” will join other voting rights groups including the ACLU of Florida, Black Youth Vote, Black Women’s Roundtable, and The Experience Christian Center for a get-out-the-vote concert at Majestic Life Church.

Heading into the final weekend before Election Day, John P. Kee and New Life Choir will be headlining the gospel concert in an effort to engage and activate central Florida’s Black voters.

Throughout the concert, Florida voting rights groups say they “will educate voters on the final opportunities for voting in Tuesday’s midterm election.” Attendees will also have the opportunity to text and opt-in to receive updated virtual voter guides, in addition to on-the-ground tabling and resources from the concert partners. Equal Ground Action Fund endorsed Democrats Val Demings and Charlie Crist this year.

The Orlando concert is part of a series of concert events to turn out voters across Florida to the polls. The GOTV concert will be Friday, November 4th at 7:00pm.
