Volusia County officials are anticipating that property values would continue to decline over the next two years and are bracing for even tougher times.
County Manager Jim Dinneen, who presented the five-year financial forecast last Thursday, told council members that property values won’t start trending upward until 2015-2016, and then, only by a mere 2 percent.
While acknowledging that “forecast are sure things,” Dinneen said, the assumptions underlying his projections were “reasonable.”
