Urban League, Sanctuary Church to hold ‘Back to School’ Giveaway

The Sanctuary Church and the Central Florida Urban League will team up for its annual back to school tennis shoe and school supply giveaway, “Steps in the Right Direction,” at the Wayne Densch YMCA on Saturday, August 9, 2014, form 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The purpose of the event is to help families in the Greater Pine Hills community prepare their children, ages 5-18 years, for the new school year.

There will be free food, live entertainment, free haircuts, free physicals, job placement assistance and fun for youths and adults.

Last year about 450 students were provided with 350 pairs of tennis shoes and 100 backpacks with school supplies.

COST: Free and open to the public; Limited supply – “First Come, First Served”

Registration:

1. Child/Student MUST BE present with parent
2. Child/Student MUST BE 5-18 years old
3. Child/Student MUST BE an Elementary-High School Student (K -12)
4. Child/Student MUST bring valid identification or proof of school (School ID
preferred or Report Card)
