hot-car-safety-thinkstock-93087452-truecar-pricing1An Orange County mother is under investigation for possible child abuse, after she left her two-month old daughter in a vehicle for one hour Tuesday.

Around 2:30 p.m., the mother took her 9-year-old to Timber Creek Pediatrics located at 12001 Avalon Lake Drive, leaving behind in her car the two-month old, investigators said.

An hour elapsed before she realized the infant was still in the vehicle and rushed her to a doctor in the pediatric clinic. The temperature in the vehicle was about 85 degrees.

The infant was taken to Nemours Children’s Hospital and is in stable condition.

Deputies have not identified the mother of the children.

The Orange County Child Abuse unit is investigating the incident.

Nationwide, on average, 38 child die in hot cars each year from heat-related deaths, after being trapped inside vehicles.
