Two Orlando Shooting Suspects Arrested, Charged with Attempted Murder

The Orlando Police Department provided an update on a recent Orlando shooting, announcing two suspects have been arrested and charged with attempted murder.




On October 30th at approximately 2:00pm, OPD officers responded to the intersection of East Central Blvd. and N. Rosalind Avenue in reference to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located an adult male victim with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene. The investigation found that the victim had agreed to meet the suspects in the area of the Rosemont Community Center.

Once the victim arrived, the suspects held him at gunpoint and demanded money. The victim did not have any money at the time, and the suspects ordered him into the vehicle and began driving him downtown. In the area of Central and Rosalind, the victim attempted to escape by jumping out of the vehicle. A physical fight ensued, and the victim was shot while attempting to run away.

The suspects were identified as Dekayla Gray and Kevin Johnson. Both have been arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Kidnapping with Intent to Commit a Felony, Armed Carjacking with a Firearm, and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle.
