The deadline is approaching for Florida students to apply for a Bright Futures scholarship.
The Florida Lottery is reminding eligible students to submit their Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) by August 31st to be considered for a Bright Futures Scholarship.
For nearly three decades, the Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped make educational opportunities more accessible for Florida students. Primarily funded by the Florida Lottery, the Program has provided more than $9.3 billion in educational funding, helping more than one million students pursue higher education and career training at Florida colleges, universities, and career and technical education programs.
“Back to school season marks the beginning of new opportunities for students across our state,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald D. Dixon. “The Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped generations of Florida students turn their dreams into reality by providing critical support throughout their educational journeys. We advise every student to learn more about the Program and understand the requirements they must meet to receive a Bright Futures Scholarship.”
The Bright Futures Scholarship Program rewards Florida students for academic achievement and community involvement while helping make higher education and career education more affordable.

The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $51 billion to enhance education and sending more than one million students to Florida’s colleges, universities, and technical schools through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its revenue into Florida’s economy through prize payouts, commissions to more than 13,600 Lottery retailers, and transfers to education. Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have paid over $110 billion in prizes and created more than 4,900 millionaires.
