Two Arrested in Central Florida Occupied Residence Burglary

An 18-year-old and 16-year-old were recently arrested for burglarizing an occupied residence in Central Florida.

This month, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 14000 Block of North 46th Street in Tampa after a residential burglary call for service. Law enforcement learned the suspects had burglarized multiple apartment units, two of which were occupied at the time of the burglary.

The apartments burglarized were all unlocked at the time. Deputies believe the suspects were turning handles and entering ones found open. The suspects stole several gaming systems, clothing, and other miscellaneous items.

Through investigative means, detectives identified and arrested 16-year-old Shervin Safarkouhpayeh and 18-year-old Germery Glass. Both suspects were charged with Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling (x5).

“When someone violates your home by burglarizing it, it can be traumatizing. Everyone should be able to feel safe in their home,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to our dedicated detectives, these suspects were quickly identified and arrested for their dangerous criminal behavior.”

This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
