Gasoline prices have been trending more or less upward for the past several months and are now 35 cents per gallon higher than one year ago. According to AAA, gas prices have hit daily record highs at least once in each of the past six weeks, 247wallst.com reports.
Here are the 10 states with the cheapest gas prices and many of them don’t even have oil refineries.
In Virginia, the price per gallon of regular gas is $3.62; Georgia, $3.60; Missouri, $3.59; Mississippi, $3.53 and South Carolina comes in at $3.50, the lowest.
