Orlando radio talk show host, Don Miller of The Don Miller Show and co-host Demica Paige are bringing the show to Sanford, Florida, for a special remote 2-hour broadcast from the storied Willow Tree Cafe, 502 East 1st Street in downtown Sanford.
In light of the Trayvon Martin tragedy and recent calls for boycotting Sanford’s struggling small business community, the Don Miller Show opposes such sanctions.
“We will continue to support the people in this town and that includes, the Sanford business community,” says Miller. “We encourage others to do the same.”
Featured guests include Sanford Mayor Jeff Tripplet, former Seminole County Prosecutor, Donna Goerner, Slate political reporter and MSNBC contributor, Dave Weigel and more.
The Don Miller Show has been at the forefront of the Trayvon Martin story from its inception and has featured several guests from across the political, religious and cultural divide.
“We need to tone down the rhetoric and back away from the precipice,” added Miller.
This special broadcast from the heart of Sanford continues along that path.
“Its time to engage in a more constructive dialog, a dialog that highlights what we have in common, a dialog that initiates the healing process,” he concluded.
The program will air on WEUS 810 AM beginning at 4pm and will last for two hours.
The “Heal Sanford” edition of The Don Miller Show was a success! There was also a special appearance by Representative Corrine Brown (D-FL) and Pastor Rico Sharp, who participated in the conversation as well. There was plenty of good food, good beer, and an awesome discussion about healing the community of Sanford, FL. We had an amazing time at the Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe. I am glad that I was there. It’s time to heal!
Im not understanding how u can say Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson is to blame and blame for Wat. Boycotting tehe small businesses.the rallies have been peaceful and if it wasn’t for Al and Jesse and alot others our voices would’ve not been heard. Just like Sanford Police Department wad goof to brush it under the rug we needed someone to help our cries to be heard.
