State Parks Offer Free Admission to Kick Off Summer for Florida’s Families

To kick off summer for Florida’s families, all state parks will be free to enter during Memorial Day Weekend, Governor Ron DeSantis declared.

“Florida is stepping up to make summer more affordable for families,” said Republican Governor Ron DeSantis. “While the federal government is causing high inflation and skyrocketing costs for families, Florida’s smart fiscal policies allow us to reduce taxes and help reduce the burden on Floridians.”

To kick off the summer with savings for families, Governor DeSantis has waived admission for all visitors to Florida State Parks for Memorial Day weekend, which includes May 24-27, 2024.

“I’m proud that we have the best beaches. I’m proud that we have the best boating,” Governor Ron DeSantis said. “I’m proud that we have the best fishing. I’m proud that we have the best state parks, and I’m happy to be able to announce that for all Florida residents, the entire four-day Memorial Day weekend, you go to those state parks free of charge.”

Florida has plenty of state parks for residents to enjoy. The Republican Florida Governor has also invested more than $440 million into Florida’s state parks in recent years.

“Florida’s 175 award-winning state parks are second to none,” said Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Shawn Hamilton. “I encourage all of Florida’s residents and visitors to take advantage of these extra savings and discover the unique experiences the real Florida has to offer.”
