Palm Bay police say a man arrested for molesting a child he was babysitting is a serial child molester. Police found two more victims since Noel Kelly’s arrest last week and they are now looking for a fourth victim.
Noel Kelly may not even know this yet, but Palm Bay police are about to go into the jail and arrest him again. Since last week’s story, two more young sisters have come forward accusing the 34-year-old man of forcing them to have sex with him.
“Absolutely, this guy is a serial child molester,” said Det. Greg Guillette, Palm Bay Police Department.
Detectives said they confirmed their fears that Kelly forced not one, but three young girls to have sex with him. Two more girls, ages 11 and 15, came forward and investigators are still trying to find a fourth girl they’ve been told about.
“As of right now, we believe we have all the Palm Bay victims identified, but we can’t be 100-percent sure. We really can’t,” Guillette said.
Police said, in all the cases, Kelly knew their parents and devised ways to get them alone with him by offering to babysit or pick them up from school. Detectives said there is little doubt the children are telling the truth.
“The two sets of victims don’t even know each other, but they are telling similar stories and have information that hasn’t been released to the public,” Guillette said.
Investigators question whether there could be more victims outside Florida, since the 34-year-old lived in New York and Jamaica before moving to Palm Bay.
Kelly already faces life in prison if he’s convicted. Detectives said the victims could be marred for life.
“They’ll never forget it. It’s a shame,” Guillette said.
In a strange twist, Kelly’s neighbor ended up in jail with him. Palm Bay police say that neighbor, Charles Rodgers, broke into Kelly’s home after he found out he was in jail and ransacked the house and tried to steal his electronics.
