Champion, 26, died in Orlando in November last year, after the Florida Classic game. The Medical Examiner, ruled his death a homicide, after an autopsy revealed there was “hemorrhagic shock due to soft tissue hemorrhage due to blunt force trauma sustained during a hazing incident.”

OCSO began their investigation on November 11, 2011, and investigators have worked over 1,000 man hours and interviewed over 40 individuals, the statement also said.

Several investigations, including by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), were launched since Champion’s sudden death. It has been revealed that FAMU has a long history of hazing.

No one has yet been charged with Champion’s homicide.
