Kissimmee Police Arrested Suspect in Shooting of 15-Year-Old

Kissimmee police arrested a suspect in the shooting of a 15-year-old in Central Florida.




The Kissimmee Police Department said the shooting took place in the area of the 1300 block of Oak Haven Drive. Local officers responded to the area in reference to a person who had been shot at the time.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the left arm. The victim was transported by paramedics to Arnold Palmer Hospital.

According to local law enforcement, through the coordinated efforts of responding patrol officers and detectives, investigators identified Yosber Capriles Barrios as the suspect responsible for the shooting. Barrios was taken into custody and transported to the Osceola County jail.

According to local law enforcement, Yosber Capriles Barrios was charged with three counts of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, according to law enforcement. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also placed an immigration detainer on Barrios after determining he was in the United States illegally.

Their efforts reflect the dedication they bring to our community every day.”
