Republicans are questioning Central Florida Congressman Darren Soto over the ongoing scandal regarding former President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline cover-up.
In fact, the National Republican Congressional Committee was very direct, saying: “Soto knew. Soto hid it. Soto lied.”
Democratic Rep. Darren Soto was a strong Joe Biden supporter and political ally. He voted in line with Democrats and President Biden’s positions. The Central Florida Democrat also praised Biden and defended against Republicans.
Referencing what they called a “bombshell report,” the NRCC said it confirms that Democrat Rep. Darren Soto visited the White House while President Joe Biden’s own advisers privately discussed his alarming mental and physical decline.
Republicans are saying that Rep. Soto wants us to move on from the matter, but that Floridians deserve the truth. The NRCC wants to know: “What did Soto know? When did Soto know it? Why did Soto lie to the American people?”
“This massive cover-up from Darren Soto and House Democrats will go down as the political scandal of the century,” said NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole. “They knew Biden wasn’t fit to serve, and chose to be silent while gaslighting Americans.”
According to the report, vulnerable Democrats like Soto met with the former Democratic President at the White House but did not say anything to voters about his fitness to serve in public office. The Washington Free Beacon reported that Rep. Darren Soto met with Joe Biden at the White House on May 6, 2024 with 29 attendees. They quoted Rep. Soto from The Ledger from July 11, 2024 saying he stood by Biden even after the disastrous debate with Donald Trump: “I support President Biden as our nominee … He had a tough first debate and now must take the time to show the American people he is still up for the challenge. I have my confidence he will.”
When news of former President Biden being diagnosed with prostate cancer broke this month, Democratic Congressman Darren Soto said: “Our prayers are with the Biden family during this time. We wish President Biden strength in the journey ahead of him.”
As he runs for re-election, Rep. Darren Soto is not saying much else right now about President Joe Biden’s health or fitness to serve despite Republicans increasing the pressure. The Central Florida represents the 9th congressional district, which includes Osceola County and parts of Orange County and Polk County.
