Electric Forest for Road-Trippers

Driving from Florida to Michigan for Electric Forest will not be easy for road-trippers, but with some planning and preparation, the journey will be more than worth it.

Before hitting the road, catch up on car maintenance, including an oil change, for the 2500-mile roundtrip drive to Electric Forest from Orlando and Tampa in Central Florida.

Read over the Festival Rules page for a list of prohibited items, policies and tips for what to bring. When packing your vehicle, keep your windows clear of obstructions and resist the urge to decorate, unless you are looking to be a target for law enforcement along the way.

Electric ForestMany Florida drivers are conditioned to drive well above the speed limit. Using cruise control and following the posted speed limits will be the safest and least stressful way to make the nearly 20 hour drive.

Be sure to stay hydrated with water and take frequent breaks to stay alert. Keep a few energy drinks on hand and within reach, just in case. Get out of the car instead of using a drive-thru during food stops for an extra stretch.

In order to camp together with road-trippers in other cars, you must arrive together (unless arriving with group camping passes). Parking staff will not be able to reserve a campsite for friends who are arriving later. If meeting up with friends along the way, set a plan of where and when you’re meeting on the trip, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Make the last stop of your trip in Muskegon if you’re arriving from the south. It has the closest Meijer and Walmart, and are great meeting places.

Have your vehicle full of gas when you enter the festival grounds. You do not want to be trying to save fuel while waiting to leave. Bring jumper cables if you don’t want to be that car sitting around waiting for help.

Finally, prepare for delays entering and exiting the festival grounds by downloading the Electric Forest 2025 Official Playlist.

Check the official website for the latest updates before starting your Electric Forest Road-Tripping adventure.
