The number of cholera cases in the Dominican Republic is up to 105, with 23 new cases having been identified earlier this week, health officials said.
There have been no confirmed fatalities form the disease, but health officials are investigating the death in the southern part of the country of a farmer who exhibited cholera symptoms.
Health officials have urged Dominicans to take all precautions to prevent the further spread of the disease.
More than 2,500 persons have died from cholera in neighboring Haiti and over 90,000 others have been infected with cholera.
