Orlando City Beautiful tops the list of America’s Emptiest Cities and has more homes standing empty in the rental market than 75 of the U.S.’ largest cities, according to CNBC.
With a 12-month average rental vacancy rate of 18.8 percent and a 2.2 percent homeowner vacancy rate, Orlando placed the highest in vacancies among the nation’s 75 largest cities. Figures also show that in the first quarter of 2012, the rental vacancy rate was the highest in the nation at 22 percent.
Dayton, Ohio grabs the second spot with a rental vacancy rate of 11.3 percent and a homeowner vacancy rate of 5.4 percent. Memphis, Tennessee is in third place with a rental vacancy rate of 15 percent and a 3.1 percent homeowner vacancy rate.
