Orlando traffic warnings have been issued for multiple OCPS graduations happening downtown on various upcoming dates. Beginning May 21st, Orange County Public School’s high school graduation ceremonies will take place at the Kia Center and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando.
Officials are warning drivers to expect traffic impacts in the downtown Orlando area.
The City of Orlando warned about heavy traffic on South Street from the 408 exit to Division Avenue and around the GEICO and City Commons parking garages.
The I-4 eastbound off-ramps at South Street and westbound at West Anderson Street will also likely have delays, including the I-4 South Street express off-ramps.
Drivers are also warned that eastbound South Street at Division Avenue will be intermittently closed on graduation event dates.
Expect heavy traffic on the following days and times for OCPS graduations:
- Tuesday, May 21st at 10am
- Wednesday, May 22nd at 8:30am, 1pm, 2pm, and 7:30pm
- Friday, May 24th at 8:30am, 1pm, 2pm, and 7:30pm
- Tuesday, May 28th at 8:30am, 2pm, and 7:30pm
- Thursday, June 6th at 1pm
- Monday, June 10th at 11am
Prepare for delays and allow yourself extra travel time, or consider taking an alternate route.
Local government is reminding people about other forms of transportation, such as SunRail, LYNX, LYMMO and bike share, provide additional options to get downtown.
