The Orlando Magic is serving as the title sponsor to the 2011 United Negro College Fund (UNCF) High School All-Star Basketball Classic to be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Edgewater High School (3100 Edgewater Dr., Orlando, 32804). Orlando Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw will serve as assistant coaches during the competition.
The High School All-Star Basketball Classic will feature the top-talented basketball seniors from Orange County. The All-Star events include the annual All-Star game, slam dunk contest with celebrity judges (to include former University of Florida quarterback Chris Leak and Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker) and a boys and girls 3-point shoot out.
The event admission is $5 and free for children five and under. Other activities to include special appearances by STUFF the Magic Mascot, Magic Dancers, prize giveaways for fans and a family “fanfest” featuring games, face-painting and 102JAMZ’s DJ D-Strong and Jay Love. All proceeds from the event to benefit UNCF scholarships for local students.
