Orlando Is a Bottom 10 City for Beer

Clever, a real estate data company, recently released new research that found that Orlando is apparently the seventh-worst beer city in America! Tampa ranked in the Top 10 for the country as the 8th best beer city, but Miami ranked just behind Orlando as the eighth-worst beer city.

The research looked at the 50 most populous metro areas in the U.S. and compared their number of breweries, density of breweries per 100 square miles, number of beers per brewery, and number of beer styles per brewery.

Overall, the 50 metro areas that were researched have a total of 70,067 unique beers from 3,277 breweries. The 10 bottom metro areas on the list, including Orlando, offer a total of 195 breweries combined — just 12 more than the breweries in Portland, Oregon, which ranks as the most breweries. Each brewery in Orlando also offers only an average of 11 beers per brewery — compared to the country’s average of 19 beers per brewery.

At the end of the day, the research found San Francisco to be the best beer city, while Salt Lake City is ranked last.
