Orange County Tourist Tax Collections ‘Cooled Off’ in Latest Report

The Orange County tourist tax collections “cooled off” in the latest report from Comptroller Phil Diamond – but it was still the best September in TDT history.

Orange County Comptroller Phil Diamond announced that Tourist Development Tax (TDT) collections received by Orange County for the September 2025 TDT collection month were $26,025,300. That is only a 1.1% increase compared to September 2024.

“After a strong, hot summer, TDT collections cooled off in September with the start of the fall season” said Comptroller Phil Diamond. However, Diamond noted this was still the best September in TDT history.

In addition, the total collections for the fiscal year 2024-25 were $384.6 million, marking the highest annual collections ever.

On the TDT reserve side, Renewal & Replacement Reserves (R&RR) increased by $4.2 million in September as shown in the attached “TDT Cash Reserve Summary”. The Other Authorized Uses Reserves, which is a component of the R&RR, is currently at $171 million, of which $28.9 million is obligated for Applicant Review Committee (ARC) grants for various capital projects.

In the coming months, a portion of the planned increase in this reserve account will be utilized to make the initial debt service payment to the City of Orlando of approximately $27 million related to the $400 million Camping World Stadium renovation project, along with a $10 million payment to UCF for the $90 million football stadium tower expansion and renovation project.

A chart was also released that shows the monthly year-over-year dollar amount change in TDT collections since October 2022:

The Orange County Comptroller’s office will release the October TDT collections report in early December.
