Chris Paul did something only two other players have done in an All-Star game as he earned the games MVP. CP3 dropped 20 points and dished out 15 assists to lead the West to a 143-138 win over the East.

The other guys to put up those numbers? Isaiah Thomas and Magic Johnson, not bad company.

Sunday night the best basketball players in the world showcased their talents in front of a sold out Toyota Center.

A beautiful National Anthem sung by John Legend and an exciting starting lineup introduction by Neyo set the night off on the right foot.

The West jumped out to an early 7-0 lead behind a few alley oops from Paul to his Clipper teammate Blake Griffin.

There is nothing like sitting court side and seeing and feeling a Griffin dunk!

“How can you not wanna pass with these guys around you?” Paul said post game. “I have Kobe on one side Durant on the other, theirs nothing better.”

Kobe Bryant playing in his 15th straight All-Star game representing the West, showed everyone he can still play lock down defense.

Yes, you heard me right, defense in the All-Star game.

Late in the fourth and only up a few points Kobe blocked two shot attempts by the reigning NBA MVP LeBron James.

One of those blocks turned into a transition DUNK by Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant.

Bryant only finished with 9 points but had 8 assists. When asked if this was his last All-Star game he replied, “hell no.”

“Kobe really set the tone defensively in the fourth for us,” Durant said.

The night was filled with energy, celebrities and great basketball.

Carmelo Anthony led the East with 26 points and 12 rebounds followed by LeBron’s 19 points.

“It was all in good spirit, man. It was just two guys that love to compete, love to go at it. So I had a lot of fun,” said James.

Those in attendance court side were Jay Z, Beyonce, Drake, Kevin Hart and many more.

Kevin Hart who won his second straight MVP in the celebrity game got into a fun trash talking beef with Chris Paul that lasted all night.

This night wasn’t just about basketball but a way for the NBA to show how great their product is on and off the court.

Next years All-Star game will be held in New Orleans and I can’t wait!
