Osceola Regional Medical Center recently hired trauma surgeon and Naval veteran Dr. Tracy Bilski as its trauma medical director. In Dr. Bilski’s new role, she will oversee the trauma medical program, which recently received Provisional Status Level II Trauma Center Designation from the Florida Department of Health.

With more than 20 years in the medical field, Dr. Bilski has provided expert trauma care for patients across the globe. As a trauma surgeon in the U.S. Navy, she treated military personnel at Camp Pendleton in California and the National Naval Medical Center in Maryland, in addition to deployments in Egypt, Afghanistan and Iraq. She has also served in multiple academic faculty roles, including as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida and the University of South Florida.=

Dr. Bilski received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Scranton and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College.  She is a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Surgical Infection Society and American College of Surgeons.

Osceola Regional began accepting Level II trauma patients May 1 after completing the state’s provisional review phase. The hospital is able to treat patients with critical injuries, such as victims of car accidents, shootings and stabbings.

“Dr. Bilski’s wealth of experience treating patients in high-pressure environments makes her an excellent choice to lead our dedicated team of professionals,” said Robert Krieger, CEO of Osceola Regional Medical Center. “Under her leadership, we will continue to expand access to life-saving medical care for critically injured patients in our community.”

Dr. Bilski resides in Winter Garden with her husband and children.
