Returning To The Scene Of His Crimes: Jeb Bush Visits Orlando

Jeb-Bush-Campaign-Speech-570x299Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will be stumping in Orlando Monday.

Bush, who served as the state’s 43rd Governor from 1999 to 2007, will begin his visit with a meet-and-greet with church leaders in Orlando.

Florida’s former governor will also take a small business tour followed other meet-and-greet sessions in Longwood and Maitland.

Bush, who announced his 2016 presidential bid in June, has been criss-crossing the country in recent days, with stops in South Carolina and New Hampshire.

Bush’s visit comes against the backdrop of a just released report by the Annie Casey Foundation which revealed that one in four kids in Florida lived in poverty in 2013.

The Casey study also showed that nearly 250,000 more Florida children were living in poverty in 2013 than in 2008. In that year, amid the Great recession 721,000 kids were impoverished in Florida.

Florida was ranked 37th in the country in overall “child well-being,” which measures indicators such as education, economics and health.
