Multiple Arrests Made for 2014 Central Florida Homicide

Multiple arrests were recently made for a 2014 Central Florida homicide.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit has solved a decade long investigation involving an apartment parking lot shooting.

On March 2, 2014, deputies found 23-year-old Damien Bowie fatally shot at the Avesto Del Rio Apartments in Tampa. Through investigative means, detectives learned 33-year-old Javonte Dennard shot Bowie in the parking lot after attacking him.

Dennard, who is currently serving time in prison due to unrelated charges, is facing charges of Murder in the Second Degree and Fabricate or Use False Physical Evidence.

Detectives arrested 37-year-old Deandra Jenkins and charged him with Principal to Second Degree Murder. Detectives also arrested 36-year-old Brittney White for Accessory After the Fact to Second Degree Murder and Fabricate or Use False Physical Evidence.

“Even after nearly a decade, our detectives never gave up on seeking justice for Mr. Bowie and his family,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are finally able to make these arrests and hold the responsible individuals accountable for this senseless act of violence. We will continue to stop at nothing to bring closure to victims’ families, no matter how much time has passed.”

This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
