Restaurant Opportunities Centers, a group that advocates on behalf of the nation’s low-wage restaurant workforce, is claiming that Orlando-based Darden Restaurants Capital Grille chain is preventing minorities from moving into higher wage jobs, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
A spokesperson for Darden told the Sentinel that the restaurant chain is “led by an African-American who is very much committed to…diversity.”
Darden Restaurants, considered the world’s largest full-service restaurant company, owns other chains such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse.
