Three men who went on a week-long crime spree, after escaping from a jail in Arkansas, were apprehended on Thursday in Polk County, deputies said.
22-year-old Korey Kitchen, 24-year-old Zachery Dunn and 23-year-old Jason Brown, who were on the run after escaping from the Craighead County Jail in Arkansas one week ago, were arrested yesterday, after deputies were able to track them to a mobile home park in Polk County.
Deputies said, along with a K-9 team, a helicopter and U.S. Marshals, the suspects were spotted walking out of the mobile home park at 21 Palms Resort late last night and standing alongside the road. As deputies moved in, Dunn and Brown fled and foot. Kitchen surrendered immediately.
Dunn and Brown were commanded to stop and surrender, but failed to do so. One of the K-9s quickly apprehended Brown, who received a bite on the leg. He was taken to Winter Haven Hospital for treatment, deputies said. Dunn, the last suspect, surrendered telling deputies that he did not want to get bitten by a dog.
Dunn, Kitchen and Brown were booked into the Polk County Jail. They have been charged with escape, as fugitives from justice and will be returned to Arkansas. According to deputies, they could also face charges in four other states as a result of their week-long crime spree.
