Man Found Dead in Crashed Car in Volusia County

A Palm Coast man was killed after he drove his car through a “T” intersection and hit a tree on Old Kings Road in Volusia County.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said, 30-year-old Farhad Ali was killed after his 2007 Nissan struck a tree on Old Kings Road and Old Dixy Highway.

A passerby saw the crashed car off into the woods and notified authorites, troopers said.

FHP said, it is unclear why Ali drove straight through a “T” intersection.

Troopers do not know what time the crash occurred.

Ali was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
