Florida Democrat Wants to Be First Gen Z Member of Congressional Leadership

A Florida Democrat wants to be the first Gen Z member of congressional leadership.

Orlando Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost put his name forward to be considered as the co-chair of the U.S. House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC).

The Central Florida Democrat said he has traveled the nation over the past several months, before the Democratic Party suffered devastating losses in elections across the country, and said he’s “heard clearly that there is a hunger for leaders who will forcefully stand for an economy and country that directly benefits them and their communities.”

As a DPCC co-chair, Democratic Rep. Maxwell Frost proposed:

  • Creating a digital creator booking program;
  • Training on improved event staging;
  • Workshops on “creating your brand and style guide”

Based on the election results, and outrage about Democrats paying millions of dollars to influencers and celebrities, some in the party may not think this is the best approach while others may think it will help counter the cultural impact of Republican President Donald Trump and his non-traditional political supporters.

Here is a letter Rep. Maxwell Frost sent his Democratic colleagues in Congress about his candidacy for House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee and his desire to be the first Gen Z member of congressional leadership:

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell is the current Chair of the House DPCC, and the current co-chairs are Reps. Veronica Escobar, Lauren Underwood, and Lori Trahan.
