Man Arrested for Murder after Body Found in Central Florida Ditch

After a body was found in a Central Florida ditch, the man responsible for the murder that took place in Tampa on June 4th has been arrested.




On June 4, 2024, at 6:34am, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a deceased male in a ditch near East Chelsea Street and Racheal Falls Drive.

When deputies arrived, they found 47-year-old Yalexander Jimenez Felipe with upper body trauma. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 32-year-old Dayhan Ruenes Vinet for the murder of Yalexander Jimenez Felipe.

Vinet has been charged with:

  • Murder in the First Degree with a Weapon
  • Robbery Firearm or Deadly Weapon $750 or More, but Less Than $20,000
  • Dealing in Stolen Property
  • False Information on a Pawnbroker Form

“I hope this arrest can help our victim’s family begin their healing process,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “As Your Sheriff, I can assure you that our detectives never rest until justice is served. The tenacity they work each case with is unrelenting and ensures that crimes of this magnitude have no place in our community.”

This investigation is still active, according to local law enforcement.
