Legoland Florida has been designated as a certified autism center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards, becoming the first theme park resort to receive the designation. And it goes for the whole resort, as the designation covers Legoland Theme Park, Legoland Water Park, Legoland Hotel, Legoland Pirate Island Hotel, Legoland Beach Retreat and the Peppa Pig Theme Park.
IBCCES officials said CAC is awarded to “organizations that complete guest-facing staff training and certification, as well as other requirements including offering accommodations for visitors with cognitive differences.”
In fact, Legoland goes above and beyond by providing additional options for visitors with autism and their families and sensory guides to help guests understand the sensory impacts of each attraction. They also implement best practices in their training.
Recently, Universal Orlando Resort announced the opening of a quiet room for autism in one of their theme parks, Universal Studios Florida.
