Karen Green‘s congressional campaign opened her district headquarters at 905 Historic Goldsboro Blvd in Sanford on Wednesday, September 14th. The Democratic candidate is running in Florida’s 7th Congressional District, covering Seminole and southern Volusia Counties.
Green is running against Republican Cory Mills, a defense contractor and Army veteran. Mills was a Trump appointee to the Pentagon as a Department of Defense advisor. Incumbent Democratic Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy is retiring and not running for re-election.
“Our basic fundamental rights are threatened and we must inform, motivate and inspire each member of our community,” the Green for Congress campaign said ahead of the office opening. “Seminole and Volusia need a proven, competent and committed representative in congress that restores the values dear to our residents. Karen is a mother, grandmother and civic leader that understands the concerns of our families. Women’s Rights, our economic concerns, our environment and our superior public education are at the top of her agenda. She is ready to serve. Together, we all win.”
