July 3 Independence Celebration at Olympia High

Mark your calendars for Friday, July 3, as PIVOT (Changing Direction for the Youth), alongside partner organization FarMor Entertainment™, host a pre-Fourth of July Independence Celebration at Olympia High School in Orlando entitled “I’m Free…Walking in the Delivering Spirit.”
This two-hour concert will feature talented poets, spoken word artists, praise dancers and recording artists from across the state of Florida sharing their special gifts for all to see and hear.
“Our community events are designed to encourage and uplift individuals to keep the faith, pursue their passion and use their God-given talents to bless someone else,” says FarMor Entertainment President, Suzette Morgan. “The overwhelming responses from our Valentine’s Day celebration at West Oaks Academy have motivated us to strive for at least three events a year so that we can continually inspire our community with messages of love, hope and unity.”
As part of our goal to combine the performing arts with education, all 9th-12th graders enrolled in Orange County High Schools (public and private) are invited to participate in the “What does it mean to be FREE?” writing contest. The teens are encouraged to express themselves in 500 words, describing what freedom means to them. Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity and the students’ ability to clearly convey their thoughts.
All entries are due by Friday, June 19 and can be sent via email to [email protected] or by mail to P.O. Box 585633, Orlando, FL 32858.
Cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 will be awarded to the top 3 entries during the show, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Olympia High School Auditorium at 4301 S. Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando 32835. Admission to the concert is $5, and children age 5 and under are free!
