Senator Nan Rich continued gaining more momentum in her campaign for Governor with another swing through Orlando Tuesday. The campaign stop was sponsored by “Hispanics for Nan Rich” as the life-long Democrat Rich grows her grassroots network statewide. Rich spoke to a crowd of over 100 at the Crown with Wisdom Senior Citizen Center off Chickasaw. After her remarks, she worked the packed room receiving a warm welcome and a lot of support.
“My campaign is focused on people,” Rich kept emphasizing. She would listen as individuals lined up to meet her and talk about their families, their most important issues and the needs of their community.
“I hear on the campaign trail across Florida that people are tired of candidates buying elections. My campaign is about the people and that’s why our vision is resonating,” Rich added.
In between campaign stops, Rich also explained her campaign’s two-tier strategy. First, she is focused on continuing to develop a strong grassroots core and a team of dedicated volunteers across every part of the state. That will keep helping her second main focus at the moment: increasing name recognition in the race.
After leaving the senior center, Rich stopped by Lechonera Latina Restaurante at Dean and Colonial as part of the “Hispanics for Nan Rich” stop. Rich’s personal touch to campaigning clearly connected with voters as she met them booth by booth. One woman on the stop even admitting to being a registered Republican but she will support Nan Rich after meeting her and speaking with her on this campaign swing and is even now debating switching her party registration.
Nan Rich believes in her people-powered approach over her opponents’ big money strategy.
“The wear and tear is all part of how I combat the big money,” Rich noted.
“Hispanic Americans savored a special treat this Tuesday when they received a special visit from the woman who could be Florida’s next Governor,” said Trini Quiroz, who helped sponsor the Hispanics for Nan Rich campaign swing. “More than 100 people gathered to listen to former State Senator Nan Rich who greeted them in Spanish!”
“At the end of the visit, all who met her promised to support and vote for her as she is supporting our Hispanic community.”
